Easy Fall Craft

My favorite time of the year is fall.  The weather changes, the colors in the sky become more vibrant, the cool snap in the air just feels so awesome.  Since I do love all things crafty, I find that the ideas flow more easily this time of year as well.  Today I wanted to create something fun from sticks.  Behind our home there are lots of trees and tall grass.  I am sure my neighbors think I am some strange nature weirdo mountain woman but off I go with clippers and bags in hand looking for the perfect set of sticks.  This project is pretty easy and you can add what ever personal touches you would like that compliment your home. So let's get started......

So I gathered my sticks or you could go the easy route and buy them at the dollar store.  I prefer the thrill of the hunt vs. buying the sticks! I have Krylon Ivory spray paint,  a super cute bucket, wreath form, burlap (of course), reindeer moss (LOVE that stuff) and scissors.

First I broke up the wreath form and pushed it down into the bucket
Next I spray painted every stick with the ivory paint

I placed the reindeer moss ( man I love that stuff) AFTER I pushed the painted sticks in the foam. Although I
jumped ahead as I was taking pictures. Sorry I can be a little impatient at times.

After all the sticks were pushed into the foam, reindeer moss was placed on top.  Then I added a sweet burlap bow.
Simple! I love how it looks so spooky next to my sparklie haunted house! The neat thing
about painting sticks is that you can use them for any season, especially if you use white or even
a cream color.  Don't worry you will be seeing these sticks again somewhere in our home.

What do you think?  How else would you use sticks for decorating your home?

Well tomorrow is a new day maybe I can scrub the paint I ALWAYS have on my hands.  If you are around me on a weekly basis you will see the constant paint that stays on my hands.  I have given up trying to be neat as I create, it's more fun to be dirty!!!

Happy Crafting!!!
