I've been framed!!

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day!!! Back again to show you how I made my FREEEE art work to hang in my kitchen. First up you need to have a frame, it doesn't matter what size or shape. Spray paint it whatever color you would like.  My frame was wood so I knew that the paint would adhere to it.   My frame didn't have a back to it, but for this project you will need one.  All I used was a piece of cardboard.  I placed the frame on the card board and traced around it.

I traced the outside of the frame so I could cut it down a tiny bit so it would fit inside the
back of the frame nicely.

Take your hot glue gun....have I mentioned how much I
LOOVE hot glue guns?? Anywhooo....focus....Glue your material all the way
around the card board. Make sure that it is straight and flat across the cardboard.

It fits so nice! Now glue the cardboard onto inside of the frame.

I couldn't find the font I wanted so I drew what letter I wanted out on a piece of card stock.
There are lots of free fonts online.  I haven't found a site that I love but when I do I will let you know.
If you know of a good one let me know.

This particular letter has two pieces.  After I cut out the Z, I traced it onto the fabric.
I didn't mention the fabric I chose, so sorry.  This is your basic muslin type fabric.  I love the
color and the little specs of black and brown in it.  It just feels
natural and that's what I like.

After I traced the template "Z" I used some black craft paint and
painted the Z.  After it dried I took a black sharpie marker and
went around the edges to clean up the lines a bit.

There it is hanging in my kitchen. I found this super cute burlap ribbon at Hob Lob a while back.   I am in complete love with this stuff.   Lookin all cute! So there you have FREEE art for your home.....well minus the $3.00 burlap ribbon. :)

Frames are one of my favorite ways to display photos or pictures my kids made for me. Since I move things all the time being able to switch photos or pictures out is so fast and easy.  Very non-committal, ohh that may not be good. Anyway....  Here are a few ideas for empty frames. The following are frames I have hanging in our home.  Enjoy!!  Take a look around hopefully it will inspire you to use what you have at home! If you have any specific questions as to how I made certain frames, ask away I would be happy to help!

The last two pictures I found on Pintrest.  Speaking of Pintrest if you haven't joined the rest of the crazy world and starting pinning on Pintrest you need too! You won't be sorry, I promise!

Have a happy day! G :)
